When I first came to Minnesota in 1991, I worked for three years as an actor at the Children’s Theatre Company. It wasn’t until some 15 years later that I realized that I should adapt and perform the wonderful Indian stories and folktales that I had heard as a child. In 2007, I teamed up with musician Greg Herriges, and we created a program of storytelling and music called Children’s Stories from India. Our live performance repertoire expanded over the years, and then we created audio versions of our stories and music, and eventually a series of videos as well.
